Artique, Powell River’s collective art gallery, is home to the largest collection in Powell River and the surrounding area and islands of the work of local artists. Started in 2002, this cooperative gallery has consistently represented more than twenty-eight local artists and artisans, with works displayed in various media: metals, precious stones, pottery, wood, soaps, essential oils, photography, watercolour, pastels, oil and acrylic on canvas and board, works on paper, greeting cards, fibre and textiles, stained glass, glass beads, leather purses, stone carvings, and much more.
Each artist in the cooperative personally oversees the operation of the gallery. During hours of operation you will have the opportunity to chat with the individual artists and experience the diverse and incredible talent of the northern Sunshine Coast first hand!
Artique is conveniently located on Marine Avenue in the downtown core of Powell River, just a short walk from the BC Ferries Westview Terminal. It is central to all the local downtown shops, eateries, and popular attractions such as Willingdon Beach and the Powell River Museum, with lots of parking.
