The Sunshine Coast is blessed with more artists per capita than anywhere else in Canada. A small handful of these artists are world class, showing internationally, with studios open to the public. Mardi is one such hidden sparkling gem, showing her art locally at her little rustic barn/studio, the ArtBarn in Roberts Creek, just off Highway 101.

Mardi’s first show was during the Cannes Film Festival in 2011, and she has just returned from showing her Equine Equus Collection at the Riviera Polo Cup near Cannes, in France. Mardi was also selected as one of the artists in the “13 Women” show in the UK as part of International Women’s Day 2013. Described as a multidimensional, multimedia source of unique inspirations, Mardi creates breathtaking works in architectural art glass, steel, canvas, and board. It is hard to believe such a vast and varied body of large works is the creation of just one artist. Mardi’s gallery is a must on every visit to the Sunshine Coast. Her art is better appreciated in person—the large scale of her work provides great impact, and her 3D creations are downright astonishing. Her ArtBook can be downloaded free at www.mardi.ca and you can find her art videos at youtube.com/helixscape. Farm to Feast orchestrates summer gourmet long-table dining/music events at the ArtBarn, and you can keep track of what’s happening by following Mardi on facebook.com/mardiartist.
