The Sunshine Coast Pottery Prowl is a two-day, self-guided studio tour that takes place this year on July 5 and 6, from 10am–5pm each day. The tour includes well-known artists, as well as emerging and experimenting artists.

Now in its fourth year, the Pottery Prowl began in 2022 with eight studios and has continued to grow. This year there are 18 studios on the tour, featuring 21 artists.

Artists with a range of styles will be showcasing their individual and unique expression through the diversity of clay – everything from functional wares to decorative and sculptural creations. The participants welcome this opportunity to open their studios to exhibit and share their work with pottery lovers. Visitors are invited to ask questions about the clay process.

This is a unique opportunity to ‘meet the makers’ and experience a first-hand look behind the scenes to where the art is created. Enjoy visiting the studios on a summer weekend, a time of year when gardens are flourishing, and the weather is fine. (It’s no secret that some potters are also fabulous gardeners!)

Get an early start on the lower coast, then wind your way up to Earls Cove, with a stop for lunch at one of the many great cafés and restaurants along the way. The tour includes studios from Langdale to Earls Cove, and many are a just a short drive from each other. This allows some or all to be visited in a single day; or you can spread your itinerary over the weekend.

We hope you can visit all the studios! You won’t be disappointed!
